Exports of poultry meat from Brazil fall year-on-year by 5.1%

São Paulo – Brazil’s chicken exports are expected to close 2018, down 5.1 percent to around 4.1 million tonnes amid changes in slaughtering criteria in Saudi Arabia and restrictions on buying in the Union European Union, the Brazilian Association of Aninal Protein (ABPA) reported on Thursday.

In relation to shipments of pork, the entity also foresees a decline of 8 percent in 2018, to 640 thousand tons, due to the Russian embargo for much of the year.
